The Part-Time Program Manager is a member of a collaborative team of community members and agencies who are responsible for advocating for volunteer services, identifying agencies and events who need volunteers, recruiting volunteers, and recognizing volunteers in Shelby County, Alabama.
Pay:
$25 per hour, for 15 to 20 hours per week on average.
Flexible schedule, with office hours anytime between 8am and 5pm.
Learn and understand the mission and vision of Shelby Volunteers in Service, Inc.
Answer to the SVS Board of Directors and oversee the day-to-day operations of the SVS Office in Columbiana, AL Track the SVS Budget and prepare quarterly reports for Board of Directors Make purchases for the SVS Office and volunteer recognition events Coordinate A/P and A/R with bookkeeper Work with a collaborative team to plan and implement volunteer recognition events Solicit donations, sponsorships, and grant funding for volunteer activities & recognition events Respond to volunteer inquiries in a timely manner Coordinate SVS Board meetings and meeting materials May supervise interns or other program staff Maintain database of volunteer opportunities and volunteers (coordination with other volunteer programs) Develop relationships with partnering organizations to collaborate on volunteerism Other duties as may be assigned Qualifications and Requirements Must possess strong leadership abilities Be an outgoing, team player with heart of a public servant The ability to work with people from many different backgrounds and social situations Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office and the ability to learn and navigate specialized databases Self-motivated and ability to work independently Must have reliable transportation Good written and verbal skills Social media savvy Strong organizational skills High school diploma or GED; some college preferred Volunteer or HR experience (preferred but not required) Physical Demands & Work Environment Work is light in nature and is generally performed in an office environment.
